How the window is found
Take the last day of your permission to stay. Work backwards through each item by how long it stays current, and the overlap is what remains. It is arithmetic rather than judgement, which is why it can be told to you as a date.
The inputs are your document list and your dates, both confirmed for your route rather than generalised.
Why it is weeks rather than months
The shortest-lived document in the file sets the width of the window. One item with a brief validity narrows the whole thing, which is why the answer is usually a fortnight rather than a season.
What moves the window
Travel, a change of address, or a change in the financial route all move it. Tell us when one of them happens and the date is recalculated rather than assumed to hold.
